The Denny Rose Foundation was established by our Founder Dr. Denise (Richardson) St Patrick-Bell. It was conceived to provide services to both start-up and established small businesses, which includes faith-based, social service, mental health, and educational agencies and companies.
As a leader, visionary, and influencer for over 30 years, Dr. St Patrick-Bell Bell has had a variety of growth opportunities. In her for-profit business, she facilitated productivity for individuals, businesses, government, education, faith-based, and not-for-profit organizations throughout the United States, the Caribbean, and Latin America. Locally and internationally, she has conducted organizational training and facilitated the start-up and growth of many non-profits and small businesses.
Dr. Bell has worked with the United Nations INSTRAW movement and the Trickle-Up Foundation to promote micro-enterprise development for women in the Dominican Republic. As a National Kellogg FELLOW, she helped women in Chile to secure funding for entrepreneurship training and small business development. It was during that time that she began the idea to do the same for women of color in the United States. She saw firsthand how small amounts of money to determined women could change an entire community.
After returning home she became a KIVA donor for women in Africa. KIVA was the world's first online lending platform. For as little as $25 you can lend to an entrepreneur around the world. It's a loan, not a donation. So, it encourages working to repay the loan, then you can borrow more to sustain the business. Incorporating these ideas along with her own from her for-profit organization GAICON LLC, Dr. St Patrick-Bell registered the Denny Rose Foundation as a Florida Not-For-Profit Organization on July 1, 2017. The Foundation received its Public Charity status from the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 50l(c)(3) on July 24, 2017, effective July 1, 2017.
